My Skincare Essentials

Hello, friends! I've been wanting to share for quite some time now my go-to products for my skin, hair, and makeup routine. Today, I am starting with my skincare essentials. All of these products are ones that I absolutely swear by. Hope you enjoy!

Clarisonic Mia 2 - This skincare device doesn't even need an introduction, as I am sure you all are quite aware of the magic behind this tool. I received my Clarisonic this past Christmas and not even three weeks in, the quality of my skin completely changed. I have always had oily skin and would constantly wake up feeling like a greasy mess {I know, gross - but hey, being real here!}. Since using it, I haven't had one morning where that has happened. No lie. And another plus - your skin will feel so soft, especially after your first few weeks of using it. Basically, it's a total must in any skincare regimen.
{Tip: When first starting use, you can get away with using the device two times per day. But after two weeks of use, switch up your routine to one time per day, or else you pose the risk of drying out your skin.}

Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser - This is the complementary face wash that the Clarisonic comes with. You can totally use your own face wash when using the Clarisonic, but I have found that this face wash works the best compared to other ones I have tried.
{Tip: You only need a pea size amount when using it with the Clarisonic. A little goes a long way!}

StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate - I received this product as a sample in a beauty box, and have continued to find that it is one of the best wrinkle fillers {that I have tried, that is}. Side note: it can also be used for stretch marks!
{Tip: All you need is a tiny tiny amount to get the job done. Use product morning and night.}

Mario Badescu Aloe Moisturizer SPF 15 - I have found this to be a great moisturizer not only to protect my skin from harmful rays, but also to help control redness. I typically alternate between this and my other moisturizer. The consistency is semi-thick and may be a tad heavy for oily skin.
{Tip: This product is super concentrated, so once again, a little goes a long way.}

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel - I have always used the moisturizing lotion version of this product for years, especially for the times when my skin was extremely dry. I recently got turned onto the gel version which is much better suited for combination to oily skin. Even though my skin isn't very oily anymore, I still can't use products that are heavy on my skin or I will break out. This moisturizer does not make me break out at all. It is my definite go-to daily moisturizer.
{Tip: Use in combination with another moisturizer that has SPF, since this one does not have that benefit. For dryer skin, try the moisturizing lotion version.}

Clinique Moisture Surge - This moisturizer is so incredibly cooling and will make your face feel so refreshed.
{Tip: You can use this as your daily moisturizer or as a moisturizing mask.}

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream - I last shared about this product in this post, and have since continued to use the product morning and night. I swear, if there is one eye cream you should buy, it needs to be this one. You have no idea how many eye creams I have tried over the years - from all price ranges - to try to diminish my horrific dark circles. There has never been a product that could do it, until this one. It is a miracle in a pot!
{Tip: Only a pea size amount is needed for both eyes.}

Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus - This serum acts as an incredible wrinkle filler for the face and around the eyes. I use it in combination with the StriVectin or in alternation.
{Tip: All you need for your entire face is two to three drops.}

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap Mild - I use this facial soap to wash my face in the morning and to take my makeup off at night. I always use it before my Clarisonic.
{Tip: DO NOT use this to take your eye makeup off. I made that mistake for far too many months. The result? Worse under eye redness and circles! Stick to a lotion or oil based under eye remover.}

Okay, that was one long post! My hopes are that you found maybe one or two new products to try. Let me know if you decide to try any of them and what you think. Would love to hear! And of course, feel free to share the products you swear by.

  3. I love the Clinique products you mentioned and also made the mistake of using a regular face wash to take off my make up and then use the clarisonic. I had the WORST under eye dark circles and my eyelids started to get red. I know use an oil based make up remover from Philosophy. I also love Philosophy Hope Is Never Enough cream as a night cream. So hydrating and doesn't give excess oil to my already oily skin. Great round up!

  8. So happy you did this post! I literally need to revamp my whole skincare/beauty routine and actually get decent products. My skin is going nuts right now out of the blue. 9. Beautiful blog as well my dear!!!! I love your style!!! To answer your question on how my husband styles his hair... he only uses shampoo when washing and when its damp he blow drys it back with a wide tooth comb! I use some forceful hairspray by Redken in his roots and it gives it so much volume and great hold!! Super easy!!

  13. I've been going back and forth between deciding on the StriVectin filler, but your recommendation might've sold me! I was afraid it would be too harsh. Did it have any negative effects on your skin?
