My Hair Care Essentials

L'Oréal Elnett Satin Hairspray - aka the best hairspray ever. Purchased it immediately after seeing on the Coveteur that Joey Maalouf, Rachel Zoe's hair stylist, swore by its effects. Works amazing for everyday use, to seal in curls, or to hold a bouffant. And you simply can't beat the price tag.
{Tip: After spraying your hair, wait a few minutes for it to dry to brush or restyle. This prevents the wet/crunchy look that we all don't want.}

Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo - I seriously don't know what I'd do without this stuff. By far, my favorite dry shampoo - and I have tried the high end brands like Rene Furterer, Oribe, and Oscar Blandi. As someone who hates washing their hair {I have a serious mane and brushing takes 20-30 minutes}, this stuff is my life saver. Soaks up oil like nobody's business, and acts as the most amazing volumizer. This is one hair product I couldn't live without.
{Tip: this product comes out in a white powder form so it works best for blondes. Unfortunately, not sure how it would work on brunettes. If powder is showing white on the hair, simply brush through a few times and it will disappear.}

L'Oréal Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum - Just recently purchased this stuff, and so far I am loving it. It is definitely helping tame the frizz that I so lovely acquire in the back and top of my head {thank you curly hair!}.
{Tip: Use sparingly! All you need is a pea size amount. Make sure to work the product into the hair from the ends up. That way the least amount of product goes on the roots to prevent product/oil buildup.}

Kerastase Ciment Thermique - Been using this product for years as my thermal protectant. The citrus-y smell is what sold me. It seriously smells uhhmazing! It is not greasy at all, which I love, and makes my hair less frizzy and more smooth after blow drying.
{Tip: Use about a pea to dime size amount - depending on how much hair you have - on wet hair prior to blow drying.}

L'Oréal EverSleek Precious Oil Treatment - I'd long been wanting to purchase the Moroccan Oil after witnessing its amazing effects at the Dry Bar, but could never push myself to spend the money. When I found Loreal's version, I knew I had to try it. All I have to say is, OMG. It has been a life saver to my dry ends. Anytime my ends are starting to look frail, I put this treatment on it and BAM!, good as new.
{Tip: This product can be used on wet or dry hair. I use about two pumps on my wet hair, mainly focusing on my ends and right before blow drying.}

Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid Lotion - I've used this product since high school and mainly use it to control my flyaways. I use it post styling, and smooth a very small amount on the crown of my head.
{Tip: Use less than a pea size amount. Any more could make your hair greasy.}

Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo - Another product I've used since high school. Just recently switched back to it, and I'm so happy I did. It's an amazing shampoo to conserve hair color and really makes my hair feel super clean.
{Tip: The shampoo is highly concentrated, so make sure to lather with water to prevent product buildup.}

Kerastase Fibre Architecte - Seriously, no joke, everyone needs to have this product. It is a thermal protectant, hair silk-ifier, and frizz tamer all in one. My hair looks noticeably different every time I use it. I use it after blow drying my hair and before straightening/curling. Also like the Cement Thermique, it smells bomb!
{Tip: You can use a lot of this product because it won't make your hair greasy. And definitely use this every time you restyle your hair. It will look good as new!}

Enjoy Conditioning Spray - next to Bumble & Bumble's Tonic lotion, this is by far my favorite detangler. It detangles my insane, unruly hair like no other. It also helps to hold in color, which is a pretty awesome bonus!
{Tip: You don't need too much of this spray since it is super conditioning. One spray in each section of the hair will do it!}

And there ya go! My tried and true hair products.
Hope this helps! If you have any additional questions about the products or its use, feel free to email me!
Stay tuned for my makeup essentials, in the coming weeks.

  1. Such great products! I am looking for a new heat protectant, and while I also used the Kerastase Ciment Thermique(totally agree-the smell is uh-mazing!), I didnt notice it doing anything for my hair. I think I'll definitely consider purchasing the Kerastase Fibre Architecte, since you do speak oh so highly about it :) Quick question- I think the Loreal hairspray is great, but how on earth do you stand the smell?! I try and try to use it, but I always end up smelling like and old lady!

  4. I love the Dove dry shampoo, but after finding "Not Your Mothers" Clean Freak, I'm a convert. It doesn't have that powdery smell. More clean!

  5. I love that you use a mixture of high and lower-end products! I really can't be bothered with serums and creams but I may need to implement a regimen so my hair can look as healthy as yours.
