Over this past weekend, I headed to a local flea market here in San Jose, on the lookout for some great jewelry to DIY. I happened to come across these beauties, which I knew would look amazing with a little neon love.
1. Start with any faux diamond earrings that you love! I chose ones that have large diamonds so that the nail polish would be easier to apply.
Cost me $5!
2. Take your neon nail polish of choice, and start painting away on the diamonds! I did a total of 3 layers of nail polish so that it would give me the bold neon color that I wanted. Allow a few seconds of drying time in between coats.
*Note: If you get nail polish on the metal that holds the diamonds in place, don't fret! No one will even be able to tell once your done.
DIY in process! Channeling my inner Jenny.
3. Finish off with the top coat! The top coat seals in the polish to protect it from chipping and gives it a glossy look. Love!
The finished product! I say not too shabby for my first try!
Modeling my DIY creation!
And there you have it! An incredibly easy DIY project that will be sure to make a statement.
P.S. I incredibly apologize for STILL being sort of MIA in the blogging world. Busyness + not feeling so great = epic fail. Hoping to jump back soon!

Love this! I've used nail polish to revamp old rhinestone bracelets, but have yet to attempt earrings...love your top knot, btw! :)

ReplyDeleteI love this DIY! I actually don't have my ears pierced (I know, I know, last girl in the world), so I think I'll hunt down inexpensive pendant necklaces to try! And I have the perfect neon pink polish in mind!
