What's The Verdict On Dry Shampoos?

These six are among some of the top selling dry shampoos.

I have now been a long time lover of dry shampoos, ever since I decided to buy Pssssst! I have super oily hair, and I absolutely love the fact that I can go three days without washing it. The longer you can go without washing your hair, the better it is for it. By not washing it everyday, it allows the oils in your hair to soak in and prevent hair from looking dry or frail. AND, it decreases the number of times you have to blow dry, straighten, or curl it. I have only tried Pssssst! and Batiste, which by the way are super reasonable price, and so far Batiste is my favorite. But there are so so many other dry shampoos out there.

So what's the verdict? Do you swear by dry shampoos? Are there any that are absolute must-tries? Any that we should steer clear from? Do tell.

P.S. If you haven't yet entered the Social Experiment Giveaway, make sure to do so! :)

  2. I love dry shampoos! I use Oscar Blandi Pronto Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray (different from the one you posted and comes in a brown bottle). It's one of the more pricier ones, but it works really well and has a nice scent to it too!

  4. I think I need a tutorial...I've tried to "use" the Psssssst dry shampoo, but I can't get my hair to get that good volume or look good period...it looks flat and yuck.

  7. Obsessed with dry shampoo ever since I read an article years ago interviewing Ken Paves and he shared that it is a life saver for Jessica Simpson's hair!
In fact, just this morning I was thinking to myself, "Thank God for dry shampoo!" as I was running late out the door! I will have to try Batiste!

  8. I use the cheapo Suave version (I think it's like $2) and I LOVE it!

  9. I honestly love baby powder - for me, it works so much better than the sprays and leaves behind much less residue. I just wish it came in darker colors so I didn't have to meticulously blend it into my dark hair! I've been meaning to try the tinted Bumble & Bumble powders for a while now..they seem more promising than the sprays I've acquired and never use (Oscar Blandi, Tresemme Fresh Start and Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser).

  10. I swear by dry shampoo! The only kind I have tried is Bumble + Bumble that my hairstylist gave me, but I definitely want to try out the cheaper versions - I'm sure they work just as well!

  11. I just bought Pssst a few weeks ago and have loved it so far. I also tried Oscar Blandi's version but it made me look like my hair was grey!

  12. The only one that I have tried so far is Oscar Blandi (the powder version). I'm thinking of trying a spray version, whether Oscar Blandi or other. I think that I would prefer it over the powder type. Thank you for the options! xo

  16. just picked up the Oscar Blandi from sephora and after three tries, I'm not the biggest fan. I've tried the Oscar Blandi, Bumble&Bumble and Treseme and out of those, my favorite is by far Bumble&Bumble. Don't get the colored ones though - they stain clothes/your hands/anything the color gets on :( Might need to give your favorite a try next!

  21. I recently started using Jumping Juniper shampoo bar (I'm going off topic here :)). I use No Drought dry shampoo (both from Lush) every other day. I'm quite happy with both of them. OB and Batiste didn't work for me.

  22. I tried a Dry Shampoo called "So Fresb So Clean" by Www.blacksolutions.com and it Worked Great Can also be used on ALL HAIR GREAT Product I would recommend to everyone

  23. I couldn't live without dry shampoo!! I think it's the best invention ever! I usually try to combine Oscar Blandi's invisible volumizing (spray) with the pronto dry (powder). The first one cleans a little and gives a lot of volume but the second makes the hair look cleaner.

  28. Use dry shampoo all the time. I have used expensive brands primarily Oscar for years until last months when I tried Suave on a tip from another blogger. Hands down it's the best...go figure. 3 bucks instead of 30 and I went from 2 days to 4 sometimes. Amazing. No white reside, just feels a little cleaner. Was about to do a post on it myself in fact. It's a game changer. Plus now that I've stopped highlighting and gone ombre' my hair is healthier than it's ever been.

  29. I use them sporadically but I might need to try the one's you suggested! Right now I use Salon Grafix and it isn't awful but I don't think it does magic to my hair.

  30. Thanks for the suggestion I'm going to buy the Batiste now!

  31. I swear by dry shampoo - have been using it for at least 8 years and tried almost every brand on the market. Stila makes the best dry shampoo which use to be sold at sephora, but now can only be found online. Love BlowPro bc it's sulfate-free. I also really love Alterna, which is talc free, so easy on highlights and doesn't give your hair that straw-like feeling. Not a fan of the Oscar Blondi product, which is a top seller. I think it leaves your hair with a white tone, dries it out, and leaves major residue.
