Exuse Me While I Powder My Nose

{images via Think Runway & Inspiration}

Hello loves! Let's talk makeup!
After countless hours yesterday talking with girlfriends about makeup and beauty products, I now have so many new products I want to try. One of which is a new face powder. I have had recommendations such as MAC Mineralized Skinfinish, Shiseido Perfect Smoothing Compact Foundation, and Sunday Riley Soft Focus Finishing Powder. I am currently using both Covergirl Clean Oil Free Pressed Powder and Sue Devitt Triple C-Weed Pressed Powder. First off, I love the Covergirl Powder because #1, it is cheap, and #2 it doesn't make me break out! I have super oily skin, and very much acne prone, so I need a powder that is not heavy or will clog my pores. I super love my Sue Devitt Powder, mainly for its awesome flawless coverage. Except, after one full days worth of wearing it, there comes the blemishes. So, here is the verdict. I want a face powder that gives me flawless coverage, won't clog my pores or make me break out, and is still economically friendly. So ladies, tell me, what do you use? Do you have any face powders you swear by? Please share! Oh, and if you also have a pairing concealer or foundation you love as well, do share as well.
Muchas Gracias ;)

And if you haven't yet entered the I See Noise giveaway, make sure to do so now since today is the last day!
Have a beautiful day my loves,

  1. I use Lancome's Double wear powder and I like it, though I'm pretty useless in the makeup department so I don't know if you should consider my choices! ;)
I've been hearing a LOT about the YSL concealer, seems that is the one to buy.

  2. I don't have a face powder I swear by yet, but I think the Chanel one you have actually pictured above might be the one!

As for concealer and foundation, I don't actually think it matters as I use a little trick I discovered from a makeup artist if you only need medium coverage from the concealer and you're not covering up problem flair ups of acne or something like that. I put my primer on, then my Benefit Boi-ing concealer, leave it for about 5 mins to let it all sink in, then apply my Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation - it works wonders and stays put all day!

  3. I've always loved Cover Girl's powders. They never make me break out! I use a blotting powder by MAC if I see any excess oil and use a light mineral veil (also by MAC) for a natural everyday coverage.

I will definitely check out the ones you mentioned about thank you!

  4. Hey girl! I use Mac Mineralized Skinfinish... I think you will like it. I have combo/oily skin and can be prone to breakouts if I use the wrong product, but I haven't had any problems with it. I have to use a brush to apply it, so I also want a touch up powder to keep in my purse during the day. I want to try the Chanel Universelle Compact because it get really great reviews. I will let you know how it is when I get it! Let us know if you find any more than you like.

  6. I love Chanel luminous foundation- it's great for your skin, but a bit on the pricey side!

  7. I love Urban Decay wet-dry. I only apply it once and set it with a transluscent powder and I'm done for the day! It's also a water base and it goes on really smooth.

  8. hey girlie! My skin is pretty oily too although I do not really ever breakout. I have a couple of recs - number one - do you use a clarisonic? That has dramatically changed my skin and has made is significantly less oily. Also - I currently use the urban decay de-slick before I apply my laura mercier silk cream foundation - the coverage is flawless and is not heavy. I just use the makeup forever HD powder to set it and then im done! also - if it helps, I always have more luck at nordstrom than at sephora - I find that their employees are more informed/helpful!

  9. Love this post and the images are so pretty! One thing I can't live without is Benefit Eye Boi-ing. The best under eye concealer ever!

  10. Girlie, I have super sensitive skin too! I just started using Covergirl True Blend foundation with blendable minerals and it works so much better on my skin and breakouts! I use Makeup Forever concealer to hide the blemishes and it works wonders! Hope you find something that works for you!

  11. this may sound dumb, but do yo HAVE to wear all over face powder? maybe just a hint of bronzer or a tinted moisturizer will help give your skin a natural glow and not worry about a heavy powder? and i just heard a little tip about concealer the other day, make sure it has peachy undertones to combat the greenish/gray of dark under-eye circles. hope it helps!

  12. I swear by Bare Minerals products...my go to line, but I am always open to new ideas to try out and add to the mix. Thank you for the ideas! If you are interested in trying Bare Minerals for a face powder, I suggest the Mineral Veil (esp. the tinted versions now that we are getting into the warmer months). Also, the minerals in it help serve in a treating way for blemish issues. There aren't really any negatives to this product because it is all natural. XO

  14. I just tried Bare Minerals and really liked it. However, I use Mary Kay's mineral loose powder and it's A. cheaper and B. gives me much better coverage. It is the perfect amount of finish without clogging your pores. Highly recommend!

  15. Mac has a few products I have been wanting to try. I use smashbox primer which gives an incredible smooth finish and is really lightweight. Also love tinted moisturizers!

  16. I swear by MAC for all my makeup so that's where my vote lies. Their makeup doesn't upset my acne prone face. Also, using RETINA every night really changed my face. I work for a plastic surgeon and was really hesitant about it, but after the first six weeks of using it, my face is completely transformed! If you don't want to do anything drastic, talk to your doctor about getting it and you can use it on those angry under the skin pimples to make them go away before they reek havoc. I use a .1 strength.

  17. Thanks for sharing! I love getting feedback on makeup and beauty products, because although I may know a lot about shoes and the most recent trends...I am sort of clueless when it comes to the world of makeup ;)

  18. Oh Lauren, I have the solution for you! I too have oily skin (especially when I'm at work under fluorescent lights!!). I SWEAR by Bare Escentuals and Mally. The mineral veil from BE is really great (I also wear Bare Minerals foundation), but Mally makes a product called "Poreless Perfection Skin Finisher". It will NEVER look cakey, it absorbs oil and it's simply amazing. Another product by Mally that I love is the "Poreless Face Defender". Seriously, both do wonders for oily skin. I order from QVC.com...I looove it! Good luck and I hope you share your findings! www.casualglamorous.com
