'Tis the season to give...#2

The second organization I am sharing with all of you today, is one that some of my classmates were apart of recently. There is one located here in San Jose, but there are also others that are available all around the U.S.

Project Linus' mission is "to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade, washable blankets lovingly created by volunteer blanket makers or 'blanketeers'."

"Project Linus has delivered over 3,000,000 security blankets to children around the world. With nearly 400 chapters in the United States, our organization continues to supply blankets to children in need. Although Project Linus originally donated blankets to pediatric cancer patients, recipients now include any child who is seriously ill or traumatized in some way -- in other words "children in need of a big hug."

How YOU can help....
- you can make a blanket and donate it!
- you can donate a gift card to Joann Fabrics, Michael's, or any other fabric store!
- you can simply donate a few dollars that will go towards fabric supplies to make the blankets!

Cheers to a season of giving!
Tonight, I am heading to SF with my girl Natalie, to meet Victoria, Crystalin, Sara, and a few others for some yummy Mexican food. And then, we are heading to the Dailybuzz Style / Madewell Holiday Soiree Event for some mingling with other fashion bloggers, and lots and lots of shopping! Cannot wait!

  1. WOW, so touching. I am excited for you for your trip to SF- have an amazing time, love!

  2. Oh my gosh what a great idea! I never thought about that but yes being in the hospital with nasty blankets is no bueno.

  8. This organization donated a blanket to my younger daughter when she was in the PICU before having heart surgery.
It warmed my heart that people took the time to make something like that, and although she was only 2 weeks old, I will show the blanket to her later when I explain her scars.
This is such a wonderful organization. Thanks for posting about it.

Thanks so much for commenting! It truly makes my day :)
